The Ministry of Health received confirmation of two more cases of influenza A (swine flu) in Cape Verde from the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, Senegal on Friday afternoon.

Both of the cases appeared in people who had recently come to Cape Verde from abroad; one arrived from Spain and began showing symptoms of the H1N1 virus in Praia, while the other arrived from Portugal and is currently on the island of Boa Vista.

So far, 30 suspected cases of swine flu have been investigated in the country, six of which were confirmed by laboratory tests. The Ministry of Health is currently awaiting results on five additional suspected cases.
