Private Cape Verdean airline Halcyonair will begin moving into the West African market beginning in January of 2010, when the company plans to begin scheduling flights to Dakar (Senegal) and Guinea Bissau. The company believes that the environment is right for Halcyonair to enter these markets in force. The airline recently acquired a second ATR aircraft, which is expected to arrive in Cape Verde in January, in order to provide the company with greater operational comfort. Halcyonair’s administration believes that 2010 will see the consolidation of its domestic routes and its entry into the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) market. |
