Cape Verde Prime Minister tours Europe

Praia, 11/12 - Cape Verde Prime Minister José Maria Neves begins an 11-day tour on four European countries Wednesday to attract foreign investment, official sources indicated here Tuesday.

Neves` itinerary includes Luxembourg, France, Holland and Portugal.

A government statement said he would at meetings with European officials press the case for stronger cooperation ties as well as the issue of Cape Verde`s special status to the European Union.
His visit to Luxembourg, one of the archipelago`s main development partners, will coincide with the organisation there of their fifth joint commission, in which delegations from the two countries will assess bilateral cooperation and define goals for the future.

Priority sectors between Cape Verde and Luxembourg are education, human resources training, health, and water and sanitation.
